Hair Removal for Men - Instructions
Question
Answer
Hello
I am attaching an answer written according to the instructions of the Gaon, Rabbi Avraham Fried, shlita
Hair removal for men:
Armpit and pubic hair: Initially, it is advisable to be stringent and not shorten at all [according to the opinion of the Rashba]. However, the main law permits shortening with regular scissors, ensuring that noticeable hair remains [according to the Shulchan Aruch].
Other body hair: It is permitted to shave with scissors like a razor, [meaning it is allowed to achieve a result similar to a good electric shaver],
but removing with wax and laser is forbidden
Facial hair: Anything that is not part of the peyot, initially, it is advisable to be stringent and not remove with laser and wax. However, by the main law, there is no prohibition.
