Immersion of Utensils - Device for Slicing Raw Meat
Question
Hi,
I purchased a device that slices raw meat and chicken only (not after cooking, and it's also not suitable for cutting other items). I wanted to know—does it require immersion (tevilat keilim)?
Answer
Shalom UvRacha,
According to the Sephardic custom – it does not require immersion.
According to the Ashkenazic custom – it should be immersed, but without a bracha.
In pressing circumstances, even Ashkenazim may use it without immersion.
