Immersion of a barbecue grill grate

Does one have to immerse a barbecue grill grate? (All utensils made by a gentile have to be immersed in a mikve before one is allowed to use them for making or serving food.) Is there another solution for making it usable?  

A barbecue grill grate has to be immersed. If this is completely impossible, there are temporary solutions to this problem, which aren’t very reliable.
