Examination of the Seven Clean Days that was Lost
Question
I have already sent it before, and I am not sure if the question was formulated correctly. It concerns a check whose purity is unknown and was lost. The check is from the middle of the seven clean days. Besides being lost, there is doubt whether it was done before or after sunset (I note not because of the delay of the check, which I know does not delay, but because I am doubtful whether the concept that there was a check and it is not known if it is pure or not affects the situation).
Answer
Shalom Rav,
Indeed, in the previous answer, I addressed only the part about the timing of the examination.
Regarding an examination that is doubtful and lost, one should ask the woman.
If in her eyes it seemed fine, and she asked only for reassurance, she can continue counting as usual.
If there was an appearance on the examination that the woman is genuinely doubtful about, by law, she must start the clean days anew.
However, in such a case, it is highly recommended to consult with the rabbi you usually show questions to and describe to him what was on the cloth, and he will know if indeed what you call 'doubt' is truly such, or if it can be relied upon that it was fine.
