Unexplained Attraction to Judaism
Question
Answer
Shalom,
There are two possible explanations.
1. Many Jews simply do not know that they are Jewish. For example, many are unaware that Jewish identity is determined by the mother: if your maternal grandmother was Jewish, and all other relatives are non-Jews, you are considered Jewish. The soul may feel this.
2. According to Kabbalah, some Jewish souls are scattered among other nations. They are drawn to Judaism, and this leads a person to conversion.
It is important to understand that Judaism does not encourage conversion. A person who wishes to join the Jewish people must undergo a complex process to fulfill this desire. However, when we see people who sincerely and wholeheartedly strive to become Jewish and are willing to do everything for it, we can assume that their soul truly belongs to our people.
